A’s story
A’s story (50s)
So I came to the conclusion that we are in a society totally marked by a military conflict. But it wasn’t done, it wasn’t talked about. We behaved as if it wasn’t like that, as if nothing had happened.
I have come to the conclusion that we have a collective trauma, a society with a collective trauma. It doesn’t matter where you are, everyone knows why they have their traumas. Because I have met murderers of the war who went crazy.
They were always afraid that some child, some daughter, some widow would come to kill them because of what they had done. There is also that. We have grown up in a society that is totally marked by a trauma, we have not talked about that trauma, We haven’t healed, we haven’t overcome this trauma because we haven’t even dealt with it.
